If your sticker-covered vehicle could use a fresh start, then you might wonder how to properly peel away those old band logos and political slogans. Luckily, learning how to remove stickers from a car isn't hard. With the right tools and techniques, you can easily remove stickers from car paint and glass surfaces in an afternoon!

Tools You Will Need

It might be simple to remove a sticker from a car, but you will need to work quickly and methodically to get the job done. That's why it's essential to gather your supplies ahead of time and keep them nearby. Start searching for the following items:
  • Hair dryer
  • Two clean cloths
  • Tree sap solution
  • Plastic card and detailing spray (for exterior surfaces)
  • Razor blade and glass cleaner (for glass surfaces)

Steps to Follow

Before you start peeling, consider taking a trip through the car wash. You'll have the best results when working with a clean surface, so you can either wash your entire vehicle or simply clean the area surrounding your sticker. The choice is up to you! Once your car is clean and your supplies are gathered, follow these steps:
  • Plug in your hair dryer and hold the nozzle a few inches above the sticker to loosen the adhesive. Keep the dryer moving and work your way from the center to the edges of the sticker.
  • When the sticker feels warm, try to peel the corner. Use your plastic card for exterior surfaces or razor blade for glass surface to really get under there. You can also try using your fingertips.
  • If the sticker feels stuck, break out the hair dryer again and keep loosening the glue. Don't worry if the sticker rips as it lifts away.
  • After the sticker is completely removed, use a little tree sap remover on a clean cloth to scrub away the sticky residue. You can also scrape away the excess residue with your card or blade.
  • Finish off with a spritz of quick detailing spray or glass cleaner on your second clean cloth to bring out the shine in your vehicle.
